Hematology is a medical unit that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases that appear in the blood. Hematology, which deals with blood and blood-forming organs, such as the spleen and bone marrow, which are extremely important to human life, is in a very close relationship with many other medical units.

The diseases that are mostly encountered in the hematology unit are anemia, thalassemia and leukemia. Anemia is a disease caused by a low level of hemoglobin in red blood cells. Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes the body to produce less hemoglobin. Leukemia, also known as blood cancer or bone marrow cancer, occurs as a result of cancer of the cells in the bone marrow, the cells responsible for blood production.
