Eyelid aesthetic (blepharoplasty) is the process of tightening the areas of the eye that support these tissues. With this intervention, the upper and lower drooping eyelids, turned inwards or outwards, are reshaped.
If only the intervention of the upper eyelid will be performed, the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia. The duration of the upper eyelid surgery is no more than 1 hour.
Recently, the removal of skin and muscles designed to cause a line to hide in the fold line of the lid in appropriate dimensions provides sufficient tension on the eyelid. Also, the skin of the lower eyelid is lifted along with the muscle with the incision being made just below the eyelashes.
Fat pad reduction is rarely required. Usually spreading the fat around the rim of the eye socket helps to correct the depression that appears under the eyes. If the removal of the cheeks and spreading of the fat pads is insufficient, fat injection can be applied.
After the skin and muscles are removed, the muscle tissue hangs on the outer wall of the eye socket. This provides support for the fat pads.
