Prof. Dr. Erdal Karaöz 

Në fushën e terapisë me qeliza staminale, Prof. PhD. Erdal Karaöz është studiuesi dhe mjeku kryesor në Turqi. Ai njihet ndërkombëtarisht si një nga terapistët më me përvojë dhe më të njohur të qelizave staminale dhe gjeneve në Turqi.

Prof. Erdal Karaöz,  u diplomua në Universitetin Dicle në 1986 në departamentin e biologjisë. Pas përfundimit të shkollimit, ai mori diplomën e doktorit në Departamentin e Histologjisë dhe Embriologjisë në Fakultetin e Mjekësisë të Universitetit Gazi në vitin 1994. Duke vazhduar punën e tij në Universitetin Süleyman Demirel në Departamentin e Histologjisë dhe Embriologjisë, ai mori titullin Profesor i Asociuar në vitin 1996 dhe arriti gradën e profesorit të plotë në vitin 2002.

Dr. Karaöz ka punuar në "Stem Cell, Inxhinieria e Indeve dhe Terapitë Gjenetike" që nga viti 2000 dhe ka kryer eksperimente në "Transplantimin e qelizave staminale dhe ishujve embrional" në Universitetin e Harvardit në Boston, SHBA, në vitin 2005.

Në vitin 2007, ai themeloi “Qendrën Hulumtuese të Universitetit të Kocaelit për Qelizat Staminale dhe Terapitë Gjenetike (KOU) dhe Qendrën Aplikimit (KÖGEM). Gjatë periudhës së tij në KÖGEM, ai organizoi gjithsej 23 kurse të pranuara globalisht mbi Qelizat Staminale, Inxhinierinë e Indeve dhe Bashkëkulturën Endometrium-Embrion. Gjatë kësaj kohe, ai shërbeu si koordinator, studiues dhe këshilltar në një sërë projektesh kombëtare dhe të huaja, duke përfshirë 30 projekte të TUBITAK.

Në vitin 2010, ai ishte presidenti themelues i Departamentit të Qelizave Staminale në Institutin e Shkencave Shëndetësore të Universitetit Kocaeli dhe hapi rrugën për fillimin e programit të parë pasuniversitar të qelizave staminale në Turqi. Ai doli në pension nga ky pozicion me kërkesën e tij më 1 tetor 2014 dhe më pas filloi të punojë si Mbikëqyrës i Mjekësisë Rigjeneruese në Qendrat e Zhvillimit të Qelizave Staminale. Prof. Karaöz kryen gjithashtu punën e tij akademike si prorektor themelues dhe pedagog në Fakultetin e Mjekësisë në Universitetin e Istinye.

Deri më sot, Prof. Erdal Karaöz ka trajtuar me sukses më shumë se 10,000 pacientë. Pacientët e tij përfshijnë shumë fëmijë, adoleshentë dhe të rritur me autizëm, të gjithë të cilët ai i ka ndihmuar të bëjnë jetë më komode dhe të riintegrohen në shoqëri me ndihmën e terapisë me qeliza staminale.

Trajtimet onkologjike të përshtatura për nevojat individuale të pacientëve dhe të bazuara në terapi të personalizuara me qeliza staminale e bënë profesorin një ndriçues në fushën e tij përtej kufijve të vendit.
